WHO Director-General's keynote address at the Philanthropy Asia Summit – 5 May 2025

Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization  (WHO), called for deeper global cooperation in addressing complex health threats, highlighting the recent landmark agreement by WHO member states to strengthen pandemic preparedness. He urged philanthropies to support countries not only in tackling specific health issues but also in building long-term capacity; to work alongside WHO in providing expertise on the ground; and to coordinate with one another to maximise reach and impact.
